Persoalan Ragam Kerja Bahasa Melayu Yang Terlepas Dari Pemerhatian Pengkaji Zaman Sekarang

Abstract

Many students and scholars today are less interested in the study of Malay grammar as they might not be able to explore a new theme that stimulates them in this feld. However, the study of the voice of Malay verb is one of the themes that is very interesting but has not been given satisfying answers yet. For example, the combinations of Malay verbs that are prefixed with me(N)- and the so-called conjugation forms appearing in a complex sentence illustrate a phenomenon of the voice of Malay verb that may have escaped the current scholars' observations. In fact, some of these phenomena have long been studied since the 19th century and have produced good discussions that went far beyond the ones of the current study. This paper is aimed at reminding the young scholars and teachers of the problem of the voice of standard Malay verb in order to improve the quality of this language education.
