Abstract

The objective of this study was to study the relationship between profitability and rate of return in capital gain yield of tourism and recreation business and logistics business listed in the Stock Exchange of Thailand. The research was conducted by analyzing the data collected from 16 companies and interview local investors of tourism and recreation business and logistics business listed in the Stock Exchange of Thailand. The results of this study were as follows: 1) The Profitability Ratio of Return on Asset (ROA) had positive relationship with rate of return in capital gain yield of Laguna Resorts & Hotels Public Company Limited and Thai Airways International Public Company Limited at a significant level of 0.001 and 0.05 respectively and had the negative relationship with rate of return in capital gain yield of Green Resources Public Company Limited at a significant level of 0.01 2) The Profitability Ratio of Return on Equity (ROE) had positive relationship with rate of return in capital gain yield of Laguna Resorts & Hotels Public Company Limited and Thai Airways International Public Company Limited at a significant level of 0.001 and 0.05 respectively and had the negative relationship with rate of return in capital gain yield of Green Resources Public Company Limited at a significant level of 0.01 3) The Profitability Ratio of Net Profit Margin (NPM) had positive relationship with rate of return in capital gain yield of Laguna Resorts & Hotels Public Company Limited and Thai Airways International Public Company Limited at a significant level of 0.01 and 0.05 respectively 4) The Profitability Ratio of Operating Income Margin (OIM) had positive relationship with rate of return in capital gain yield of Laguna Resorts & Hotels Public Company Limited , Royal Orchid Hotel (Thailand) Public Company Limited and Thai Airways International Public Company Limited at a significant level of 0.01,0.05 and 0.05 respectively Factors that affect the spread shares of the of the tourism business and recreation and the logistics sector include the growth of tourism industry, tourists especially an increase of foreign tourists, an increase of the domestic meeting and seminar, government policies on promoting tourism industry, an expansion of investment, an increased and decreased capital share of the company which affects the spread shares in a large sector.
