dc.description.abstract It was widely considered that Thai primary school pupils mostly were poor in vocabulary acquisition due to their low motivation and enthusiasm to learn English. Such a condition might be due to the fact that most of the current traditional methods implemented by Thai English teachers were not interesting. This study aims to investigate the use of arts in supporting self efficacy of Thai teacher candidates. The objectives of this study is to investigate the effect of the use of art in teaching and learning on towards preservice teacher self efficacy. This study hypothesizes that the use of art in teaching and learning towards has a positive and significant effect on preservice teacher self efficacy. The participants of this study were 27 first-year undergraduate students who were taking an English subject at Yala Rajabhat University, located in Yala Province of Thailand. Two different dimensions of Teacher Self Efficacy were explored in this study: i.e., General Self Efficacy and Teaching Self Efficacy. This study hypothesised that the use of arts would provide a positive effect on both General Self Efficacy and Teaching Self Efficacy. The results of this study confirmed that hypotheses developed in this study were supported. en_EN
